Entry Form and Anti-doping Agreement

Anti Doping Policy

There have been some changes to the way anti-doping policy is administered, and as a result there is a need to advise pilots of the new requirements. The main change is that pilots need to sign a form stating that they understand the policy and agree to be bound by it.  This is a condition of entry - pilots who do not sign may not compete. However, they are not signing to say that they are drug-free, or anything like that - their status remains their business, as it always has.

It is important to stress that the basic anti-doping policy hasn't changed - ASADA and its predecessor have been legally able to test us for some years.  All that is happening is that we are following some new rules whereby pilots must be informed about the policy and explicitly agree that they have been informed.  The other thing to say is that it is a pilot's responsibility to comply - we will not be asking pilots to say that they are drug-free, and we are not in a position to say what is and is not allowed under the policy.  Pilots who are concerned about the nature of any medication should discuss that with their doctor to see if an exemption should be obtained.
